Synopsis
In today’s post-Christian culture, simply being a Christian can be viewed with hostility. How do we share our faith with others when it feels like we’re living in exile? We tend to view “evangelism” as an activity that requires power and influence (think Billy Graham). We tend to think those most qualified to speak for Jesus have all a big platform and the answers, and thus, we disqualify ourselves. How do you have conversations about Jesus when both you and your message are unwelcome? By embracing exile, can we view this hostility as an opportunity? We might ask, how did first century believers do it?
Join us for “Conversations in a Hostile Culture,” a fall sermon series through the book of 1 Peter, where we will explore how to talk about Jesus with those around us when the very idea of Jesus seems countercultural.
