Latest Regathering Update | June 25, 2020

Listen to an important update from Senior Pastor Neil Tomba

Dear Northwest family –

We want to take a moment to update you on a few things and remind you of some key dates for our worship regathering plan.

You’ll be excited to know that Dr. Abe Kuruvilla is joining us again this July for a sermon series on 2 Timothy—“Completing the Course.” You’ll hear more about this series soon!

Right now, we’re aware of the concerning increase in Dallas County COVID-19 cases. We want you to know that our elders and leaders are closely monitoring this situation and assessing how it affects our decisions.

Due to this increase in cases and recently implemented Dallas County requirements, we will require masks for all indoor activities on campus, including worship services, and will have those available if you need them when you enter the building. You can view details of our COVID safety precautions here.

Our goal remains to provide meaningful and safe worship experiences wherever you feel most comfortable, whether on campus or at home. Livestream will continue to be an option for those who aren’t ready to come back in person quite yet. Please continue to pray for God’s wisdom and guidance as we navigate further decisions.

Currently, we’re planning to follow our existing timeline for on-campus worship:

Beginning SUNDAY, JULY 12, you’ll be invited to gather with us for on-campus worship in limited capacity.
    • Two services – 9 & 10:35 a.m. in the main Worship Center.
    • 250 people in each service: This allows us to appropriately socially-distance according to guidelines set by state and local officials.
    • All ages welcome: Childcare will be available beginning August 2, but all ages are welcome in the Worship Center.
    • Registration required: To allow us to socially-distance effectively, registration will be required for every individual ahead of time.
    • Registration available Sunday, July 5: A registration link will be available on our website beginning July 5.

On Sunday, August 2, we will resume childcare for nursery through age 4.

On Sunday, August 9, we will welcome ALL ages back into Sunday programming, nursery through high school.

Church staff will be back in the office full-time beginning Monday, June 29 to prepare well for welcoming you back onto campus for worship!

Let’s talk about VOLUNTEERS!

If you’re ready to worship on campus, consider volunteering! Some of our faithful volunteers are not quite ready to come back onto campus. We need greeters and ushers starting in July, and Children’s Ministry volunteers in August. To volunteer, fill out this form.

In two weeks, you’ll receive another update, including a walkthrough video that will highlight what to expect when you regather with us on campus for worship. We hope this fun and informative video will help you feel confident and prepared, should you choose to worship with us on campus! If you have questions or comments, please let us know by emailing feedback@northwestbible.org.

There is one more update we have to share, and this is a hard one. Brandt Wright, our Executive Pastor, has recently been diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and is currently undergoing further testing to determine prognosis and treatment. While we are heartbroken about this news and saddened by the implications for Brandt, his wife Paige, and daughter Sophie, we are confident in God’s ability to heal and sustain Brandt during this process. We invite you to pray alongside us as we believe God for healing for Brandt’s body and spiritual provision for Brandt, Paige, and Sophie. We will be praying for Brandt tomorrow, June 26, at 12 p.m. during Live Weekday Prayer on Facebook and invite you to join with us. You can find details on our website.

As we continue to remind ourselves, “Where God has us is where Jesus is.” He never leaves us or forsakes us.

In Him,

Neil Tomba
Senior Pastor
